RFID Tags

BCI supplies a broad range of RFID tags, including UHF (ultra-high frequency) passive tags, hard tags for durable asset tracking, smart labels (RFID inlays with a printable label surface), bin tags for shelf and storage location tracking, and specialised on-metal tags for surfaces that interfere with standard RFID. Tags are available in multiple form factors, sizes, and frequency types (HF and UHF) to suit the specific application and surface material.

Standard RFID tags perform poorly on metal surfaces and near liquids because these materials absorb or reflect radio frequency signals. BCI supplies specialised on-metal RFID tags and liquid-tolerant tags engineered for these conditions. These tags include a built-in foam spacer or modified antenna design that ensures reliable reads even when attached directly to metal containers, equipment, tools, or liquid-filled products.

RFID tags enable item-level serialisation — each tag carries a unique identifier that can be linked to batch records, production data, and movement history. In regulated industries like pharmaceuticals and FMCG, this supports complete end-to-end traceability and audit readiness. Tags can also carry cryptographic authentication data, making counterfeit detection possible at any point in the supply chain. BCI's Track and Trace solution uses RFID tags for these workflows.

RFID tags are used in manufacturing (WIP tracking, tool management), retail (cycle counting, self-checkout, anti-shrink), pharma and life sciences (batch traceability, anti-counterfeiting), logistics (pallet and carton tracking), automotive (returnable transport item tracking), and government (asset management).
