| Functaionality and Ease of Use |
AssetMAN rich feature set provides all the facilities you need in one easy to use application. This provides for much better integration than the modular approach often adopted. Administrators simply turn off the features that are not required. The software is presented in an intuitive manner with a familiar feel and a concise and easy to use interface. Features such as scanner compatibility, intelligent defaulting, report and saved lists make it simple for first time users. Experience has shown that many first time users can use the system without any training. The well written software structure also allows most screens to respond in under a second and the long waits and limited interface traditionally associated with web applications do not apply.

| Bar Coding and Scanners |
A simple but effective design has been employed to allow the download of scan data from location audits from any scanner or manually typed text file. AssetMAN will work with customers to import asset discovery data from Portable Terminal into the asset system without re-keying. The AssetMAN support Symbols PDT3100, SPT1550 and SPT 1800 series terminals. The client modules for these terminals are included with the software and are fully compatible with AssetMAN. PDT3100 is a full keypad based hand held bar code terminal with integrated scanner, whereas SPT 1550 is a touch screen based data collection solution. The SPT1800 is a rugged terminal at reasonable cost, but more elegant scanning. BCIL also offers Microsoft Windows CE or Pocket PC based solutions for automating the data collection into AssetMAN. The support for portable terminals allows quick and accurate data entry into AssetMAN. For example, to do a Location Audit, the auditor start Asset Audit module on hand held. Now auditor visits the location, where he wants to do audit and scan the location code. The location code could also be entered manually into hand held terminal. Now auditor starts scanning the assets in that location. During scanning, the application allows auditor to enter his comments against each asset in case some thing is wrong with the asset. When the audit is finished the scan records are downloaded as a text file back to AssetMAN. AssetMAN will then walk the Auditor through the exceptions found and allow any modifications or transfers to take place. Handheld Location Audits are conducted as follows. Firstly the auditor downloads location data from AssetMAN into hand held terminal. The auditor visits each location and scans each asset in turn. Any newly discovered assets are entered into the terminal and the terminal software can collect other information such as asset condition, exceptions or other problems. On return the file is taken from the handheld and uploaded to AssetMAN. From there the user can preview the effect of the audit and when satisfied, can commit the audit changes to the database.

| Multi-Location Connectivity |
The customers looking for central asset inventory can easily achieve the same using AssetMAN. The extensive import/export features of AssetMAN, allows virtually any transaction data from AssetMAN to external system from external system to AssetMAN. In case of multi-location installations of AssetMAN, the user at regional office level only need to export the daily transaction data as a plain text file and send it to head office. This exchange of data could be done easily through email or through internet. The files received at head office are imported into AssetMAN and head office gets to know the inventory at various regional offices. |
